The first person to be cured of HIV is from Seattle

June 18, 2013

“Early reports identified him only as ‘the Berlin patient.’ But Timothy Ray Brown, the first person cured of HIV, was born and raised in Seattle.”

And thus, begins The Seattle Times story about Timothy Ray Brown, who will speak at a community event sponsored by Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center on June 19. For more details on the event, visit us at Fred Hutch. It’s a free event, and you won’t want to miss Brown’s story and Fred Hutch’s efforts to find a cure for HIV/AIDS.
